Self-Assessment Limitations

Results from this tool are based entirely on self-reported answers provided by you. We do not verify, audit, or independently assess your organisation's security controls, systems, or practices.

Assessment scores indicate how your self-reported responses align with framework requirements. They do not represent verified compliance status or guarantee any level of security.

No Compliance Certification

Important: Using this tool does not certify, guarantee, or constitute official compliance with any cybersecurity framework, standard, or regulation.

Assessment results should not be represented to regulators, customers, business partners, or insurers as evidence of compliance or certification status.

Official compliance verification requires assessment by qualified security professionals or accredited certification bodies.

The Essential Eight Maturity Model is developed and maintained by the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC). Privacy Picket is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or accredited by the ACSC or any Australian Government agency.

Our interpretation of framework requirements is provided for educational purposes. For authoritative guidance, please refer to the official ACSC Essential Eight documentation.

Privacy

Your assessment answers stay in your browser. They are only ever sent to us if you ask us to email you your results, and even then we use them to compose that one message rather than storing them.

We use Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and cannot identify you. This site sets no cookies at all.

If you give us your email address, we use it for the thing you asked for and nothing else. We do not sell or share it.

Our Privacy Policy sets all of this out in full, including exactly what is kept and for how long.
